IT Medical Group can check the security of your network firewalls by scanning for external vulnerabilities.  While internal vulnerability scans work within your network’s firewalls to detect vulnerabilities locally, external scans are for detecting ways that malicious outsiders might be able to breach your system’s security and gain access to your private data.

How secure is your network?

Scanning for external vulnerabilities will help you see just how secure your network is and it is an easy enough process that you can conduct once or twice a year. It is not the same as a penetration test because it does not exploit network vulnerabilities, but rather scans and creates a log of alerts for you to respond to.

How does external vulnerability scanning work?

External vulnerability scanning assesses the security of your system from the outside by looking at potential vulnerabilities or weaknesses. External scanning is sort of like making sure the outside of your home is secure: windows shut, doors locked, etc. Internal scanning is more like making sure your CO2 and smoke detectors are working or your inside doors are locked. Both are important, and at IT Medical Group we are equipped to help you with both.
